Big Elk Floats and Camping is quite a popular spot during the summer months.  Reservations are best, especially for weekend visits. If you have a favorite spot, claim it as quickly as you can!  You can easily reserve your vacation online but if you have any questions at all, you can either call, email or even chat with us right online via Facebook.

We have a two night minimum on weekends and 3 nights on Holiday Weekends.  Nightly minimums are upheld for all reservations.  

Reservations made in advance are paid in full at the time of reserving.  If you are planning to reserve for a group you can handle this several ways.  If you are the group leader, you simply reserve the minimum number of guests (2) on each site that you would like to hold.  Any other guests you have are able to pay for themselves at the time of check in.

Floating reservations are only held thru 12pm unless otherwise arranged.  Boats not on the water by 12pm may be released to another guest unless you call or text to adjust your float time.  We’ll honor the time selected on the reservation.  

Also an option is to take advantage of our group pay feature.  This allows you to reserve your exact party size and have members of your group log in to pay their portions.  This makes it a little easier on ya’, we’d say.

Check-in: 4PM and Check-out: 1PM

Cancellations must be made 7 days prior to your arrival for floating and camping.  14 days notice must be given for any of our lodging units, the River House is a 30 day notice. If proper notice is received we will refund your deposit, less a 10% penalty.  If proper notice is not received, you forfeit your deposit paid. Please be kind and keep us in the know and we’ll do the same for ya’. Our seasons are short and our livelihood is made within this time each year.  

If it’s raining here, through Noon on the day of your float trip and we are not able to put you on the water, we will raincheck your trip for another time.  Rainchecks are valid through October 31st of the year issued. If we put you on the water and it begins to rain while you are out there, no refunds or rain checks will be offered.  

We do not issue any refunds or rain checks for lodging or camping not cancelled within the timeframe noted above.  We know camping is best when it’s dry outside, but let’s face it, the best memories are made when the roof gets blown off your tent!  

Superseding all noted above:
There will be no refunds issued for day of cancellations or changes to your reservations.  If a credit is granted by the management team, it will be in the form of a store credit to be used that day for merchandise.  Any unused portion is forfeited. 

Here at Big Elk, we welcome your Pets, we even have a few of our own that you may meet while you are here. We do limit each site to 2 pets. We charge $10 per pet, per night in the campground.  There is an additional $10 charge for any pets who float with you.
